Feb, 2015 -  A KM architecture showing three layers of a corporate content and collaboration structure. In this, the Public layer (Web, Social Media) is available to everyone, the Extranet is restricted to certain categories of users and the Intranet is purely internal. All three layers contribute to knowledge sharing and communication, but essentially is the Extranet where most of the secure KM exchanges happen, extending to the outside of the organization to partners and clients.

Feb, 2015 - The Human Network as recorded in Teamworks, the KM platform we developed at UNDP. Here recorded users' activity highlights their role, as leaders, connectors and groundbreakers. In itself, this recognition is a powerful incentive to knowledge sharing. Outliers are also clearly identified, not necessarily negatively, as they may be the end points of a path. Together with gaming elements such as leaderboards, badges and general usage scoring, role definition is one of the new incentives, i.e. increased visibility, that many users are getting accustomed to.
